About Us

Salute Market | Our Team

The story

Salute Market was developed based upon the belief that everyone should “enjoy life”. The three partners of Salute market are Tommy, Rob and Michelle Lefkowitz. Tommy and Rob are twin brothers, Michelle and Rob are married. After over 20 years in our individual careers, we decided to take our skills and experience to develop a new concept that everyone would love. Born and raised in the greater Cleveland area, we decided to open Salute Market surrounded by palm trees and the warm Florida sun.
We have always entertained our family and friends, with people continually coming together around us. At Salute Market we will greet you as if you were a guest in our home; wishing to provide you, your friends and your family the opportunity to be surrounded by all the things we love ; great food, great drinks, and great people.

The people

Tommy Lefkowitz, Owner/Operations

Tommy’s experience in the food service industry spans over 20 years. Tommy’s career began as server for Uno’s Pizzeria, where he supported himself while earning his BA in Communication from the University of Cincinnati. His experience serving had a profound impact on him, learning very early on that he loved to serve people and to make them happy. As Tommy advanced in his career, he craved more experience so he moved into a career in fine dining at the Palomino in Cincinnati. It was during this time that Tommy knew he had found his chosen field. After several years of honing his skills, he made the next logical advancement into management. Tommy has always had a passion for coaching and mentoring people, so management turned out to be the perfect fit at this point in his career. Tommy was recruited by Darden Restaurants, which is the largest corporate chain of restaurants in the world. Within 5 years at Darden, Tommy was promoted to the position of Managing Partner. Tommy managed all facets of the operation including the total financial performance and execution of 70 direct reports. After several years, Tommy’s ability to increase sales and guest satisfaction, led his location to #1 in the region. Finally, Tommy made the decision to pursue a lifelong passion of opening a business with his family. As an advocate of customer service, Tommy wanted to help create the perfect concept to give people everything they need. Tommy incorporated his love of great food, great drinks, and great times with people to help form Salute Market. In his spare time Tommy has a passion for great scotch, spending time with friends and family and reading books.

Robert Lefkowitz, Owner/Finance

Robert’s passion for business began in college when he read the biography for Subway CEO Fred DeLuca. He has always dreamed of starting a family business serving clients as well as the community he lives in. He is a staunch supporter of excellent customer service and enjoys reading the bios and blogs of successful business owners who embody and teach this simple concept. Throughout his twenty year career in finance and banking, Robert mentored numerous young professionals in the basics of conducting business and servicing clients. Robert is thrilled to bring these skills and join his family in the launch of Salute Market. In his free time, Robert enjoys Golf, Reading, Cleveland Browns Football and spending time with his wife Michelle and two daughters Maya and Zoe.
